All April leading up to Earth Day, we are asking you to join us in making small habits that will make a big impact. To get you started, we have put together our favourite items into a Simple Swaps kit, and we're donating $5 on every kit sold to the Environmental Youth Alliance.
Our goal = 200 kits sold = $1000 donation
We will report back throughout the month on our progress!
The Environmental Youth Alliance is a Vancouver-based charity that engages youth facing barriers to become environmental stewards and community leaders.
Environmental Youth Alliance supports BIPOC youth facing barriers to connect with nature and develop the skills and confidence to steward the environment through land-based education and job training programs.
Youth participants learn about native plant gardening, Indigenous plant use, and pollinator conservation while restoring habitat for birds, bees and other wildlife and improving access to nature in the city.
Youth programs are completely subsidized and the benefits are enormous. Not only do the programs build community, empowerment, and foster a connection back to the earth, the youth gain hard skills that have been applied to successful environmental careers.
700 Youth + Children are supported annually
EYA’s main programming site is located in Strathcona Community Gardens on the edge of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, with other restoration projects taking place in and around East Vancouver. We serve youth from Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
